This tour follows our standard itinerary whenever sea and weather conditions permit. However, as Komodo National Park is located in open ocean waters, the captain may adjust the route if high waves, strong winds, or safety advisories make certain destinations inaccessible.
Alternative Itinerary (Weather & Safety Policy)
Weather & Safety Notice
Your safety is always our highest priority.
Komodo National Park is located in open waters where sea and weather conditions can change quickly. If the harbor authority, captain, or local authorities determine that the regular route to Padar Island, Komodo Island, Pink Beach, or Taka Makassar is unsafe due to high waves, strong currents, or adverse weather, the itinerary will be adjusted accordingly.
In this situation, we will operate an alternative route within safe navigation areas while ensuring you still enjoy a full-day island-hopping experience.
Possible alternative destinations include:
- Kelor Island
- Menjerite Island (Snorkeling)
- Rinca Island (Komodo Dragons)
- Strawberry Rock
- Pempe Island
- Bidadari Island (Snorkeling)
Destination availability depends on sea conditions and instructions from the captain and local authorities on the day of travel.
Why Can the Itinerary Change?
Because the safety of our guests comes first.
Our captain continuously monitors:
- Wave height
- Wind conditions
- Sea currents
- Harbor authority regulations
- National Park recommendations
If any route is considered unsafe, the captain has full authority to modify the itinerary without prior notice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I receive a refund if the itinerary changes?
The tour will continue as scheduled using the safest available route. As the trip still operates and alternative destinations are provided, itinerary changes due to weather or sea conditions are not eligible for a refund.
Will I still see Komodo dragons?
Whenever conditions allow, we will visit either Komodo Island or Rinca Island, both of which are natural habitats of the Komodo dragon.
Why is Rinca Island used instead of Komodo Island?
Rinca Island is also part of Komodo National Park and offers excellent opportunities to see Komodo dragons while providing a safer route during certain sea conditions.
All itinerary adjustments are made solely for guest safety and are based on the captain's professional judgment, local authority regulations, and real-time sea conditions.
